Commercial Waste Collection in Bury

Shops, offices, salons, workshops and landlords all produce waste that household collections will not take. We work around opening hours so a collection does not happen in front of your customers.

About this service

Commercial Waste in Bury and Greater Manchester

Business waste sits under a different set of rules to household waste, and the difference catches people out when they start trading from premises. If waste is produced by a business it is commercial waste, and the business has a legal duty of care over it. That duty does not end when somebody drives it away: it runs until the waste reaches an authorised destination, which is why the paperwork matters as much as the collection.

In practice that means two things. You must only pass waste to a carrier registered with the Environment Agency, and you must be able to show where it went. You are entitled to see the carrier registration before anyone loads a vehicle, and you should ask for it. A business that cannot produce one is a business whose waste may end up fly-tipped under your name.

The second is that household kerbside collections cannot legally be used for business waste, even when the business runs from a home address and even when the volume is small. A home hairdresser or a small workshop still produces commercial waste and still needs a commercial arrangement for it.

Beyond the compliance, the practical requirement is usually timing. Shops, salons and offices do not want a collection happening across a shopfront in the middle of trading, so collections are generally better arranged around opening hours, either before the doors open or after they close.

What we take

  • Office and retail general waste
  • Cardboard and shrink wrap in volume
  • Shop fit-out and strip-out debris
  • End-of-tenancy commercial clearances
  • Pallets, crates and packaging
  • Catering and kitchen dry waste

What we cannot take

These need a specialist licensed carrier. Ask us and we will tell you who handles them rather than take them ourselves.

  • Clinical and sanitary waste streams
  • Hazardous and chemical waste
  • Confidential paper requiring certified shredding

How the collection runs

  1. 1

    Tell us what needs clearing

Call or send the form with a rough idea of what you have. A photo on your phone is usually quicker than describing it.

  2. 2

    We quote for the job

A price based on the volume, the weight and the access, given before any work starts, with no obligation to go ahead.

  3. 3

    We load and clear

Our team does the lifting and carrying, including from upstairs or round the back, then tidies the area afterwards.

  4. 4

    It is sorted and recycled

The load is separated so that metal, wood, cardboard and green waste go for recycling rather than straight to landfill.
