About

About WastePro

A waste collection and clearance business based in Bury, working across the north of Greater Manchester for households, landlords and local businesses.

Who we are

Waste handled efficiently and responsibly

WastePro collects and clears waste across Bury and the surrounding area. The work ranges from a single mattress on a Tuesday morning to a full house clearance against a completion date, with garden waste, trade waste, scrap metal and builders rubble in between.

It is not a complicated trade and we do not pretend otherwise. What varies between one waste carrier and the next is not the vans, it is whether the price you were quoted is the price you pay, whether somebody turns up when they said they would, and what actually happens to the load once it has gone.

That last point is the one worth caring about. Waste that is sorted properly is mostly recoverable: metal recycles indefinitely, clean timber is chipped, cardboard is baled, green waste composts. Waste that is tipped as a single mixed load is handled as the most difficult thing in it. The difference is invisible to the customer, which is exactly why it is worth asking about.

How we work

What you can expect

Three commitments that between them cover most of what goes wrong when people hire a waste carrier.

Clear about the price

A price for the job before anything is loaded, based on volume, weight and access. If a job turns out smaller than described, the price comes down rather than staying where it was.

Clear about the limits

There is a list of things no general waste carrier can legally take. We tell you what is on it and who does handle them, rather than quietly loading something we should not.

Clear about the destination

Loads are sorted so recoverable material is separated out. You are entitled to ask any carrier what happens to your waste after it leaves, and to get a straight answer.

Duty of care

Check whoever you hire, including us

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 the responsibility for waste stays with the person who produced it. It does not transfer to whoever drives it away. If waste is fly-tipped and traced back to you, the question asked is whether you checked that the person you gave it to was authorised to take it.

That check takes a minute. Anyone taking waste as a business must be registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier, and the register is public. Ask for the registration number, look it up, and keep a note of it.

Ask us for ours before you book. Ask anyone quoting against us for theirs too. A carrier who will not give you one is not a cheaper option, it is a liability with your name on it.

How it works

What happens when you book a collection

Four steps from the first phone call to a cleared space, with the price agreed before anything is loaded.

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what needs clearing

Call or send the form with a rough idea of what you have. A photo on your phone is usually quicker than describing it.

  2. Step 2

    We quote for the job

A price based on the volume, the weight and the access, given before any work starts, with no obligation to go ahead.

  3. Step 3

    We load and clear

Our team does the lifting and carrying, including from upstairs or round the back, then tidies the area afterwards.

  4. Step 4

    It is sorted and recycled

The load is separated so that metal, wood, cardboard and green waste go for recycling rather than straight to landfill.

  1. 1Tell us what you have and where it is
  2. 2We give you a price for the job
  3. 3We load it and clear the space

Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Messages sent outside those hours are answered the next working day.

Tell us what needs clearing

Send over a rough idea of what you have, or a photo from your phone, and we will come back with a price for the job. There is no obligation to go ahead.
